"Bring Down the Walls"
Poem By Jackie Hill

Jackie says:
This is a poem that I wrote recently. Many people have walls around their hearts that are similar to the walls of Jericho. The walls may have been built from years of pain, low self esteem, molestation, rape, absence of a parent, etc...but this poem is to encourage all who are tagged that whatever wall is keeping you from your victory can be demolished if you have FAITH in God. NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR HIM! (Luke 1:37)

"By FAITH the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days." HEBREWS 11:30

Bring down the walls!
It may sound as if im speaking about the walls of Jericho
But no, im speaking to the bricks built around your heart from years ago
Brick upon brick being built from words being spilt from slick lips
Calling you skinny cuz ya hips aint thick or telling you ya fat
Because God’s image of you don’t exist to them
Thin sips of sin sinking in due to your desire to please your friends instead of Him
You don’t wanna feel neglected not knowing that you’re wearing a suicidal necklace
Suffocating yourself slowly cuz ya dying for human acceptance.
Brick upon brick being built cuz ya never felt loved
M&M hard exterior, tryna front like that little child inside ain't still craving for a chocolate hug
Even though God loves you, the enemy tells you otherwise
He had u open up your heart by letting many men come inside
Relationship after relationship, that void never filled, still searching for father figures
Feeling filled from lustful thrills and giving man that spot that was made for only God to fill
Every man that ran had a brick in their hand, laying brick upon brick around your heart
Cuz that’s the enemies plan. Now you gotta wall of distrust
Every person that comes along got ya eyebrow raising up
God is saying, “Only if you trusted me, you wouldn’t need a wall to cover you up”
Brick upon brick being built around that suppressed little boy inside
From voices telling you ,”Stop acting like a punk, only gay boys cry.”
Now you cant show your emotions, keeping them bottled up inside
Now those bricks in your past have stacked up into a wall of pride
God gives grace to the humble and He opposes the proud
That thick wall that you thought protected you is messing with your eternity now
Brick upon brick being built from broken promises
Waiting on daddy to come home. That part of you still longing for the man that helped ya Mama make you. Ya mind thinking he hates you
Brick upon brick for every plan visit missed, aint seen him in years like you aint even his kid
Brick upon brick because ya heart got dissed.
Didn’t have a daddy so you looked for it in idols
Sex, drugs, & money
may gratify the flesh but it will never satisfy you
God say’s “ I am all knowing, I knew what was gon’ happen.
When you said yes to me, there was a spiritual transaction
I went to the cross, yelled it is finished, I bled & died for that heart to be replenished
You trusting man more than the man that died for sinners
That’s whats keeping that wall from being permenatly diminished
On the 7th day, the Israelites got up & marched around the city.
Plenty thoughts running thru their heads like,”God, how long will I have to be behind this wall”
God’s saying,”Be still & know that I am sovereign over all
The things that they did to you when you were young, I allowed it to happen cuz I knew
One day salvation would come & many would come when they heard the testimony spoken
From you tongue
Stop thinking about how you may b judged when you’re transparent, & just focus on my son
The 7th time around, the trumpet blast & Joshua said, SHOUT 4 THE LORD HAS GIVEN U THE
CITY!
Trust in the king of kings and He will hand over your victory
The people gave a loud shout & the wall came falling down!
God says “If you trust in me, I can do the same thing to your walls now!!
